Example of typical intersection design as would be used at Kilborn, Pleasant Park, Smyth and Alta Visa. Detailed plans are available for:
- Nicholas/Lees Section - northern end from the 417 interchange to the bridge over the Rideau River.
- Riverside Section - from the Rideau River to Alta Vista Drive.
- Central Section - from Alta Vista to Smyth with access to the Hospital.
- Southern Section - from Conroy/Walkley to Smyth crossing Kilborn and Pleasant Park.
Although the Alta Vista Corridor road is proposed to be a 4-lane road it will widen to 7-lanes at major cross streets as shown above. The additional lanes which appear near intersections are a bus priority lane, left hand turn lane and right hand turn lanes. This design is unfriendly to pedestrians and cyclists using the existing cross streets.
